HKIC provides free STEAM and further‑studies/employment activities for secondary schools and NGOs, including but not limited to:

  • Year-round activities such as full-time programme talks, industry sharing, mentorship sharing, campus visits, STEAM and BIM workshops, participation in parents' day, and DSE mock interviews.
  • Joint activities with secondary schools/NGOs and venue support (CFC, KBC LT & MPR, SSC MPR, KCC Hall).
  • HKIC Open Day (May, June annually), STEAM x BIM Competition (October–December annually), and Programme Information Days (subject to HKIC announcements).

Part-time Programmes
HKIC offers various programmes, Certificate in Robotic Welding Application and Certificate in Robotic Painting Application, to help construction workers enhance technical skills and work efficiency.

Safety training programmes include:

  • Certificate of Safety Training for Site Management Staff
  • Safety Training Course for Construction Workers of Specified Trade

and other relevant safety programmes

The School of Professional Development in Construction (SPDC) under HKIC offers a range of professional and continuing programmes, including the Future Construction Excellence Programme (FCE), Master Class, and various industry‑specific programmes.


Full-time Programmes

HKIC is committed to providing comprehensive career support to prepare students for successful entry into the construction industry:

  • 100% Site Practices Matching: Students enrolled in full-time programmes of one year or above will be arranged to undertake site practices, ensuring a balance of theory and practical experience.
  • Over 95% Employment Rate: Based on data from the past three years, the employment rate of graduates from full-time programmes of one year or above consistently exceeds 95%, reflecting strong recognition by the industry.
  • “Advanced Diploma/Diploma in Construction/Certificate in Construction Training Scheme” sponsored by contractors: In collaboration with industry partners, sponsorship (amount determined by contractors, ranging from five hundred to several thousand Hong Kong dollars per month) and practice opportunities are provided, enabling students to connect with the workplace during studies.
  • “Construction Mentorship Programme”: Through mentor-student matching, industry professionals serve as career mentors, offering guidance and personal development support.
  • Approved Technical Talents Training Programmes (CICATP): A holistic development pathway combining on‑the‑job training, skills enhancement and assessment, soft skills, safety training, innovation and technology education, nurturing graduates into knowledge‑based technical personnel.
  • Recognised under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF Level 2). Graduates may progress to the Institute’s part-time programmes and subsequently articulate to degree programmes.
  • Admission requirements: Secondary 3 graduate; and the applicant must be legally permitted to stay and work in Hong Kong.
  • Training allowance: up to HK$4,800 per month.
  • Shorter training duration; allowance amounts vary by programme as announced on the HKIC website.
  • English programmes available, suitable for non-Chinese speaking students.
  • Admission requirements: Aged 18 or above and legally permitted to stay and work in Hong Kong (some programmes require Secondary 3 graduate).
  • Recognised under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF Level 4). Graduates may articulate to tertiary institutions, or progress to top‑up degree programmes offered through articulation agreements with partner universities and institutions, enabling them to obtain a bachelor’s degree in a shorter time and at lower cost.
  • Admission requirements: HKDSE—Level 2 in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language (some programmes require Level 2 in Mathematics); and the applicant must be legally permitted to stay and work in Hong Kong.
  • Training allowance: up to HK$3,600 per month.
  • Recognised under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF Level 3). Graduates may progress to the HKIC’s part-time programmes and subsequently articulate to degree programmes.
  • Admission requirements: Secondary 6 graduate (some programmes require HKDSE Mathematics Level 1); and the applicant must be legally permitted to stay and work in Hong Kong.
  • Training allowance: up to HK$4,800 per month.

HKIC offers one-year and two-year full-time Advanced Diploma, Diplomas in Construction and Certificate in Construction programmes, as well as short-term full-time programmes. Key features include:
