The “WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2023” Prize Presentation Ceremony was held at IVE (Haking Wong) on 25 November 2023 (Saturday) to recognise competitors’ outstanding performance in more than 30 competition trades across 6 skills categories.
Dr. Clement Chen, GBS, JP, Chairman of Standing Committee on Youth Skills Competition; Mr. Herman Hui, GBS, MH, JP, Honorary Advisor of Standing Committee on Youth Skills Competition; Mr. Donald Tong, GBS, JP, Executive Director of Vocational Training Council; Ir Albert Cheng, Executive Director of Construction Industry Council; Ms. Man Lau, Deputy Executive Director of Clothing Industry Training Authority; Mr. Richard Chan, JP, Deputy Director, Trading Services of Electrical & Mechanical Services Department; donors and other guests attended the Ceremony to present the awards to the winners.
A total of 20 students from CIC were awarded in 7 skills trades, including “Bricklaying”, “Concrete Construction Work”, “Joinery”, “Painting and Decorating”, “Plumbing and Heating”, “Wall and Floor Tiling” and “Welding”. Some competitors will devote themselves to a series of trainings to enhance their skills, striving to represent Hong Kong to participate in the “47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France next year.
