Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) has been providing quality construction training in Hong Kong for over 45 years.
The CIC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chongqing Senior Technical School of Architecture on 25 June to establish a partnership to nurture talents and provide educational and cultural exchange opportunities for the competitor in Wall and Floor Tiling of the WorldSkills Competition.
The MoU Signing Ceremony took place at the Launch Ceremony of “The Belt and Road” Skills-Building-Dreams Action in Chongqing. Dr. Morgan YANG, Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction, believed the partnership would facilitate cross-regional exchange between Hong Kong and Chongqing, as well as enhancing the skills and social status of the competitor. It is hoped to inspire more young individuals to devote themselves to skills learning, develop their potential and achieve their dreams in the WorldSkills Competition.
Representatives from the CIC visited the training facilities and bases for Wall and Floor Tiling at the Chongqing Senior Technical School of Architecture to learn the skills of the China WorldSkills team and the techniques of Plastering and Drywall Systems. They also met with Ka Chun, the competitor in Wall and Floor Tiling, who is currently undergoing intensive training at the school, to check on his training progress and show their support.
