The 47th WorldSkills Competition (WSC) held its closing ceremony on Sunday (15 September) in France, marking a perfect conclusion to this competition that showcases the achievements of outstanding young craftsmen! Competitors of the CIC has delivered outstanding results, achieving CIC's best performance ever. CHOW Lok-yin from Welding and FONG Chun-yin from Joinery successfully earned their outstanding medallion, bringing pride to Hong Kong! As strongest support of competitors, experts and trainers are heartening to see them shine on the world stage, which also confirms the professional standards of the young elites in the construction industry.
CHOW Lok-yin, the medallist of Medallion for Excellence in Welding, was excited after knowing he won the medal. He appreciated the support and recognition from his company, as well as his expert and trainer for their dedicated guidance and accompany. Participating in the WorldSkills Competition allowed him to become more mature in life.
FONG Chun-yin, the competitor in Joinery, was overwhelmed with tears of joy after knowing the result. He felt rewarded for his efforts and thanked the company and encouragement from the expert and the trainer. It was an unforgettable experience for him to represent Hong Kong to compete in an international competition, learning to persevere even when mistakes were made.
CIC has sent 7 competitors in 6 trades, including CHAN Chun-hei and TSANG Hei-lam for Concrete Construction Work, WU Yunfan for Painting and Decorating, CHAN Chun-ting for Plumbing and Heating, and DAI Ka-chun Stephen for Wall and Floor Tiling. All of them said racing with other competitors from all over the world during the four-day competition has broadened their horizons. They also thanked the teammates for supporting each other and striving for excellence together during this period. The competitors have won our support already whatever the outcome! Congratulations to all the competitors for completing the WorldSkills Competition and challenging themselves!
