The Construction Industry Council (CIC) encourages continuous professional development in the industry through quality training to uphold the competencies and competitiveness of practitioners in the construction industry in Hong Kong.

The School of Professional Development in Construction (SPDC) is the professional education arm of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC), a subsidiary of the CIC, and the SPDC is established to provide professional and continuing education pathways for industry practitioners in construction. SPDC is responsible for collaborating with interested parties in organising and delivering industry companion training programmes in HKIC.

HKIC-SPDC invites interested parties in the Hong Kong construction industry to submit proposals for jointly delivering training programmes. Suggested areas / topics include, but are not limited to, Artificial Intelligence (AI) for construction, Smart Site Supervision Systems (4S), drone applications, scan-to-BIM solutions, robotics integration, and digital twin technologies, BIM applications, and Virtual Reality / Argument Reality (VR/AR).

1. Interested parties are required to complete a proposal using prescribed format specified in the Template of  Industry Companion Training Programme Proposal provided below for each training programme for consideration by HKIC. The contents of each proposal will cover the proposed programme title, curriculum with allocation of time for each module, student admission requirements, mode of programme (daytime and/or evening), class assessment methods, etc.
2. SPDC will be responsible for vetting Industry Companion Training Programme proposals and communicating with interested parties.
3. Interested parties will be required to sign an agreement with HKIC to deliver Companion Training Programmes with HKIC. For details such as standard terms and conditions of the Agreement, please enquire at the contact below.
