According to the Hong Kong Observatory’s forecast, local weather conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly later tomorrow (23 September). The Observatory may consider issuing the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. Adverse weather is expected to persist on 24 September.
To ensure student safety by avoiding travel during potentially severe weather conditions, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction announces that all classes will be suspended on 23 September and 24 September. All outdoor Training Grounds will also be temporarily closed.
The Trade Testing Center's half-day trade test scheduled for the morning of 23 September will proceed as planned, while the all-day trade test and the afternoon trade test will be postponed. The Center will be closed on 24 September.
Students are advised to remain vigilant and stay in safe places at all time.

The WorldSkills Competition is held biennially, with the next competition set to take place in Shanghai next year. The CIC is going to participate in eight skills competitions, including Bricklaying, Cabinetmaking, Concrete Construction Work, Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Heating, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Welding.
The “WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2025” will be held in May. Some trades have already begun their intensive training. Instructors from the Hong Kong Institute of Construction equips the participants with the knowledge of tools and techniques used in their trades. Participants are highly attentive and practice diligently, showcasing immense passion and determination. They also conducted simulated exercises with double-hook safety harnesses to enhance safety awareness at construction sites, aiming to minimise the risks of accidents.
In the next two months, participants will continue to dedicate themselves to training, striving to excel in the WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2025 and earn the opportunity to represent Hong Kong in the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026!
