According to the Hong Kong Observatory’s forecast, local weather conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly later tomorrow (23 September). The Observatory may consider issuing the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. Adverse weather is expected to persist on 24 September.
To ensure student safety by avoiding travel during potentially severe weather conditions, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction announces that all classes will be suspended on 23 September and 24 September. All outdoor Training Grounds will also be temporarily closed.
The Trade Testing Center's half-day trade test scheduled for the morning of 23 September will proceed as planned, while the all-day trade test and the afternoon trade test will be postponed. The Center will be closed on 24 September.
Students are advised to remain vigilant and stay in safe places at all time.

The “WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2025” officially kicked off today! After more than two months of training, the participants are finally stepping onto the competition stage. The opening ceremony was officiated by Ir Prof. Thomas HO, Chairman of the CIC, and Ir Albert CHENG, Executive Director of the CIC, who both rallied for the competitors!
Ir Prof. HO reminded the participants to prioritise “Safety First”, encouraging them to perform their best and enjoy every moment of the competition. Ir Albert CHENG praised the participants’ perseverance, noting that their journey has already marked a significant milestone, hoping them to continue to shine with confidence at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
As the starting pistol fired, six skills competitions began, including Bricklaying, Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Heating, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Welding. Participants carried out various tasks based on the test projects, such as grouting in Bricklaying, speed mural in Painting and Decorating, pipe bending in Plumbing and Heating, tile cutting in Wall and Floor Tiling, and shaping in Welding. Participants demonstrated intense focus and determination to complete the test projects within the time limit.
