We strive to provide students with diversified services and developmental activities to boost their confidence.
Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) has been providing quality construction training in Hong Kong for over 50 years.
To raise students' awareness of safety in the construction industry and to put into practice the Construction Industry Council's motto "Life First, Say No to Danger" and " Everyone is accountable to construction site safety," the Student Development Department organised the "Construction Safety Ambassador Programme" from March to June 2025.
The programme featured a variety of experiential activities, including first aid certificate training, multicultural exchange activities, the "Bearing the Wounds, Speaking of Loss" occupational safety education photo exhibition, and a visit to the Hip Hing construction site for exchanges with industry professionals. These activities equipped students with essential safety knowledge and skills, deepened their understanding of the importance of occupational safety, and encouraged them to reflect on how to protect their own and others' safety and health in daily life and work environments.
Upon completion of the programme, it is hoped that students will put into practice a "caring for oneself and others" safety culture in their future workplaces, laying a solid foundation for safety work in the construction industry and becoming advocates and practitioners of a safe construction site culture.
