According to the Hong Kong Observatory’s forecast, local weather conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly later tomorrow (23 September). The Observatory may consider issuing the No. 8 Gale or Storm Signal between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. Adverse weather is expected to persist on 24 September.
To ensure student safety by avoiding travel during potentially severe weather conditions, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction announces that all classes will be suspended on 23 September and 24 September. All outdoor Training Grounds will also be temporarily closed.
The Trade Testing Center's half-day trade test scheduled for the morning of 23 September will proceed as planned, while the all-day trade test and the afternoon trade test will be postponed. The Center will be closed on 24 September.
Students are advised to remain vigilant and stay in safe places at all time.

These training bases, including Bricklaying, Cabinetmaking, Concrete Construction Work, Joinery, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Welding, are dedicated to offering a well-equipped platform for skills enhancement. Ir Ricky LAU, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) of Development Bureau, was invited as the Guest of Honour, together with our Chairman, Ir Prof. Thomas HO, Executive Director, Ir Albert CHENG, and distinguished guests to celebrate this significant step.
Ir LAU highlighted that WorldSkills Competition acts as a bridge to connect the elites from worldwide, fostering the exchange and cooperation among Hong Kong and overseas countries, and introducing innovative technology and development from overseas into Hong Kong to enhance the skills level and the productivity of the construction industry.
Ir Prof. HO remarked the launch of the training bases demonstrates our strong commitment to nurturing talents and passing on skills in the construction industry. Following the ceremony, the guests toured the competitor workshop and training bases, gaining insights into the facilities, competition formats, and test project designs.
