Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) has been providing quality construction training in Hong Kong for over 50 years.
HKIC welcome a delegation from Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College on 21 November 2025 for a meaningful exchange focused on the development and experience of vocational education in Mainland China. The exchange also explored WorldSkills training arrangements in Joinery and Cabinetmaking, aiming to enhance the quality and standards of skills training.
Dr. Morgan YANG, Director of the HKIC, emphasised that HKIC actively promotes innovation in vocational education, highlighting that industry-education integration is as a crucial bridge connecting education and industry. HKIC seeks to foster complementary ideas and create diverse opportunities with an international perspective for students through exchanges and WorldSkills Competition.
Ms. ZHONG Xiuping, Dean of Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College, mentioned that their college has extensive experience in vocational skills training. They look forward to deeper collaboration with HKIC in skills training and preparation for international competitions, strengthening students’ professional skills and competitiveness.
They also visited the WorldSkills training bases to better understand the facilities and offer suggestions to optimise the training environment and enhance participants’ performance.
