The 48th WorldSkills Competition will be held this September in Shanghai. Apart from experts and trainers, “Skills Competition Ambassadors” also play a vital role in skills coaching and competitor support. WU Yunfan (Ares), a former competitor in Painting and Decorating at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, has joined the team as a Skills Competition Ambassador. Drawing on his competition experience and innovative techniques, he is committed to helping competitors strengthen their abilities.
Ares combines traditional Hong Kong painting techniques with new methods gained from exchanges to design progressive training, helping competitors deepen their understanding of drawings, colour application, and mastery of competition rules. He also develops supplementary training through weekly reviews and reflections.
Beyond skills, Ares places strong emphasis on mentality and adaptability. He simulates high-pressure competition environments with distractions such as noise, time limits, and tool restrictions to help competitors enhance their focus and mental resilience. He also shares his own experience to guide them in maintaining an optimal mindset.
Leveraging AI tools and design software, Ares develops diverse test projects and training plans to enrich the depth and variety of training. Some of his work have attracted over 5,000 likes on social media, helping to promote WorldSkills Competition and Painting and Decorating.
With a strong focus on skills development, mentality management, and innovative training, Ares is dedicated to empowering competitors together to step onto the international stage with enhanced abilities.
