Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) has been providing quality construction training in Hong Kong for over 50 years.
The CIC has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shandong Industrial Technical College to establish a partnership to provide enhanced training resources and exchange opportunities for the competitors in Plumbing and Heating of the WorldSkills Competition.
Our Executive Director, Ir Albert CHENG, witnessed the MOU signing ceremony. He remarked that Hong Kong and Shandong will work together to build a forward‑looking training platform to comprehensively enhance competitors’ skill levels. He emphasised that skills represent not only a profession, but also a culture. Through skill exchange and practice, competitors can master higher‑level skills, which is essential for driving continuous advancement in the construction industry.
Dr. Morgan YANG, Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC), signed the MoU on behalf of the CIC. He highlighted that Shandong Industrial Technical College has extensive experience in skills education, talent development, training systems, and staff development. He expressed his hope of establishing a long‑term and solid cooperation framework to support competitors in growing together through exchange.
Representatives from both parties also toured around the Centre for Future Construction at the HKIC to learn how smart technologies are fostering innovation in Hong Kong’s construction industry and transiting toward intelligence.
