In response to National Security Education Day, HKIC held flag-raising ceremonies at the Kowloon Bay, Kwai Chung and Sheung Shui campuses on 15 April 2026. Students and staff gathered together to express their respect for the nation.

On the same day, HKIC invited Mr. Leung Wai-kit, Director of Training and Curriculum Development of the Patriotic Education Centre, to deliver a talk entitled “National Security and Me” at the Kowloon Bay campus. More than 300 students and staff from the Kwai Chung and Sheung Shui campuses also participated in the event via live online streaming. Using everyday examples, Mr. Leung provided a clear and accessible analysis of the relationship between national security and various areas including culture, food security, ecology, resources and artificial intelligence. He also shared insights into the necessity of legislative safeguards for national security and the importance of preserving cultural heritage, helping students better understand the close connection between national security and daily life.

In addition, the Learning Resources Centre organised a themed book exhibition and an interactive quiz game, offering students an engaging and relaxed learning experience to further enhance their understanding of national security.
