Silver Card Course is suitable for workers involved in construction trade(s) of high risk.
The Course consists of three modules :
Module 1 - 3.5 hours (Morning Session, Day 1)
• Common accidents in lifting operations
• Legislation and general safe working practice related to lifting operations
• Common types of lifting appliances and lifting gears and their safe working practices
• Proper use of personal protective equipment, Smart Site Safety System (SSSS) and MiC Work
Module 2 - 4 hours (Afternoon session, Day 1)
• General safety inspection for lifting gears
• Basic principals of safe lifting operations
• Case study
• Written test
Module 3 - 7.5 hours (Day 2)
• Safe working procedures for lifting operations and code of practice in working at height
• Use of SSSS PPE & Inspection of lifting gears
• Practical training in safe lifting operations
• Practical training in MiC Lifting, using hand signals and walkie-talkie for communication with lifting crane operator
• Practical test
"Non-Public Works Safety Training Promotion Scheme" aims to enhance the safety awareness and knowledge of personnel in the non-public works sector.
This course is covered under the scheme. In addition to meeting the course entry requirements, applicants must comply with the following conditions and submit a personal declaration via online application system:
- The applicant must not have been involved in any public works projects for a minimum period of three (3) months immediately preceding the application date.
- Applicants are allowed to participate in the scheme only once per year (calculated from the start date of their previous course) and repeat enrollments are not allowed.
*Public works projects include Architectural Services Department, Civil Engineering and Development Department, Drainage Services Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Highways Department, and Water Supplies Department.
Course Fee : HK$170
This is a subsidized course, designed for individuals who have not participated in public work for the past three months or longer.
Students will receive tuition subsidy:HK$380 and incentive subsidy:HK$760, total subsidy amount: HK$930.
