When the programme is successfully completed and obtained a certificate, the student will be able to:
Implement safety inspection according to construction industry related safety regulations and code of practice; and able to supervise construction workers to adopt relevant regulations and safety standards to facilitate worker safety in the workplace; Suggest safety measures and improvement actions that embrace compliance in response to potential risks in construction procedures; Plan and take relevant occupational health protection measures in relation to occupational safety and health and hazard control; Apply the knowledge of safety management to analyze common accidents in construction site and suggest proper preventive measures to ensure safety in work environment.
(a) Possessing Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) qualification, or equivalent. Applicants aged 23 years or above with proof of 3 years' relevant work experience and not meeting the minimum academic entry requirement may apply through the mature applicant route. (b) Having the ability to read and write Chinese/English. (c) The applicant must not have been involved in any public works projects for a minimum period of three 3 months immediately preceding the application date. (d) Applicants are allowed to participate in the scheme only once per year (calculated from the start date of their previous course) and repeat enrollments are not allowed.
*Public works projects include Architectural Services Department, Civil Engineering and Development Department, Drainage Services Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, Highways Department, and Water Supplies Department.
