Case study of confined space accidents; Review on Related Confined Space Regulations and Code of Practices; Safe System-of-work; Appreciation of the particular nature and working environment of DSD confined space operations and identification of the potential hazards; Risk assessment and permit-to-work system for confined space operations including handling of emergency situations; Practical and Written Tests.

This course has been recognized by the Drainage Services Department

1. Applicant should possess a valid “Certificate of Confined Space Competent Person” or be a safety officer registered under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors) Regulations (Cap. 59 sub. leg. Z); or (E.R. 3 of 2021). And

2. Applicant must have at least 1-year's relevant experience in confined space risk assessment, after obtaining the Certificate of Confined Space Competent Person or being registered as a safety officer . And

3. Applicant should be lawfully employable in Hong Kong, i.e. (a) Holder of Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card; or (b) Person who is not subject to any conditions of stay in Hong Kong that he shall not take up any paid or unpaid employment in Hong Kong.

Attended all lectures and passed the written and practical tests (Certificate validity period is 3 years)
