HKIC provides free STEAM and further‑studies/employment activities for secondary schools and NGOs, including but not limited to:

• Year-round activities such as full-time programme talks, industry sharing, mentorship sharing, campus visits, STEAM and BIM workshops, participation in parents' day, and DSE mock interviews.
• Joint activities with secondary schools/NGOs and venue support (Centre for Future Construction, Lecture Theatre [Kowloon Bay / Kwai Chung Campus], Multi-Purpose Room [Kowloon Bay / Sheung Shui Campus] )
• HKIC Open Day (May, June annually), STEAM x BIM Competition (October–December annually), and Programme Information Days (subject to HKIC announcements).

HKIC established the "STEM Alliance" in 2018. It was transformed into the "STEAM Alliance" in 2022 to align with the Government's education policies and direction. The Alliance is led by a Steering Committee comprising representatives from the Development Bureau, academia, school-sponsoring bodies and the construction industry.
The objectives of the STEAM Alliance are to:

• support secondary schools in promoting STEAM education initiatives through HKIC, in accordance with the Education Bureau's STEAM policies;
• connect the construction industry with STEAM activities and foster students' interest in, and understanding of, science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics;
• promote innovation and technology in the construction industry through activities, enhance the industry's image and attract young people to join the industry; and
• provide a platform for secondary school teachers to exchange experience in implementing STEAM education.

HKIC provides a diverse range of on-campus activities for secondary schools across Hong Kong to support further studies and career guidance, including:

• Thematic talks, with professional engineering personnel, such as instructors or alumni invited to share their experience;
• Further studies talks, suitable for school weekly assemblies, morning assemblies, further studies sessions and career guidance activities, among others;
• On-site interviews at schools, under which students who successfully pass an interview for a one-year or two-year full-time programme may receive priority admission from HKIC (suitable for current DSE candidates);
• Workshops, such as electrical installation, joinery and plastering;
• Parents' Days or Parents' Evenings, with information on further studies and employment shared with parents;
• Further studies exhibitions held at individual schools or jointly by multiple schools; and
• DSE Results Release Day activities, with programme application and interview booths offering immediate admission.

HKIC provides a diverse range of off-campus activities for secondary schools across Hong Kong to support further studies and career guidance, including:

• Guided campus visits and hands-on craft experiences at the Sheung Shui, Kowloon Bay and Kwai Chung campuses, including electrical installation, joinery, painting, surveying and BIM;
• Visits to construction exhibitions and interactive experiences at the Centre for Future Construction, Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre, CIC-Zero Carbon Park, MiC Resources Centre, and Safety Experience Training Centre;
• HKIC Open Day, held annually around May or June; and
• Exchange activities for principals and teachers responsible for further studies and career guidance.

In addition, the STEAM Alliance has organised its annual flagship event, the "Hong Kong Secondary School STEAM x BIM Construction Model Creative Design Competition", for several consecutive years. These activities aim to increase students' exposure to, and understanding of, engineering and technology, laying a strong foundation for future education and innovation and technology development. Winners may receive cash vouchers, and participants may receive certificates of participation.

STEAM Alliance school membership is granted on a school basis. The secondary school must complete the "STEAM Alliance Membership Reply Slip" (available on the HKIC website under Partners > STEAM Alliance > "STEAM Alliance Membership Reply Slip" at the bottom of the page). HKIC will contact the teacher responsible after receiving the application.

After becoming a school member, the secondary school will receive the latest information on HKIC activities and invitations to participate in STEAM-related learning and experiential activities.

HKIC offers one-year and two-year full-time Advanced Diploma, Diplomas in Construction and Certificate in Construction programmes, as well as short-term full-time programmes. Key features include:

• Recognised under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF Level 4). Graduates may articulate to tertiary institutions, or progress to top‑up degree programmes offered through articulation agreements with partner universities and institutions, enabling them to obtain a bachelor’s degree in a shorter time and at lower cost.
• Admission requirements: HKDSE—Level 2 in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language (some programmes require Level 2 in Mathematics); and the applicant must be legally permitted to stay and work in Hong Kong.

• Admission requirements: Secondary 6 graduate (some programmes require HKDSE Mathematics Level 1); and the applicant must be legally permitted to stay and work in Hong Kong.

• “Advanced Diploma/Diploma in Construction/Certificate in Construction Training Scheme” sponsored by contractors: In collaboration with industry partners, sponsorship (amount determined by contractors, ranging from five hundred to several thousand Hong Kong dollars per month) and practice opportunities are provided, enabling students to connect with the workplace during studies.
• “Construction Mentorship Programme”: Through mentor-student matching, industry professionals serve as career mentors, offering guidance and personal development support.
